Hilo High School, located in Hilo on the Island of Hawaiʻi, is one of the oldest, most historic, and most accomplished public-school athletic programs in the state. Known as the Vikings, the school competes in the Hawaii High School Athletic Association as a member of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation. Hilo has achieved sustained success across football, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, judo, paddling, swimming, track and field, cross country, golf, tennis, and air riflery. The Vikings are particularly renowned for baseball, where they have captured multiple state championships and established one of Hawaii’s premier traditions.
