Coastal Carolina commit Osiris Lopez breaks Massachusetts all-time passing TDs record
Leominster (Mass.) had saw its 2025 postseason run end two weeks ago with a 48-32 loss to St. John’s Preparatory School in a Round of 8 MIAA playoff matchup. Thanksgiving Day, however, provided one more opportunity for Blue Devils’ senior quarterback Osiris Lopez, a Coastal Carolina commitment, to break a Massachusetts high school football record that’s stood since 2016.
Lopez threw six touchdown passes in Leominster’s 59-6 victory over Fitchburg on Thursday morning, making the Blue Devils’ signal caller the new all-time record holder for touchdown passes in Massachusetts’ state history with 123.
The senior quarterback surpassed the previous record of 122 previously held by Duxbury‘s Bobby Maimaron (2013-2016).
”It’s a crazy feeling, it doesn’t even feel real that it happened,” Lopez said to Rivals Friday morning. “Shoutout to all my teammates for making that happen and blocking for me catching the ball scoring and making me look good.”
One of the state’s top quarterbacks earned a rave review from St. John’s head coach Brian St. Pierre, who played quarterback at Boston College, when Lopez totaled nearly 500 yards and five touchdowns in the playoff loss to the Eagles.

“I’ve seen one guy on a football field do that, and his name is Michael Vick when I was at BC. He was just a better athlete than anyone and made plays,” St. Pierre said to the Boston Herald back on Nov. 14 when Leominster-St. John’s Preparatory faced off.
Lopez ends his senior season at Leominster with 40 passing touchdowns, easily surpassing his personal record of 31 he threw as a freshman back in 2022.
