However, as he mentioned to On3’s Chad Simmons, he will only be choosing between the University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Wyatt originally announced his commitment on July 6 but postponed the confirmation.
Before finalizing his commitment, Joel Wyatt will play for Oakland, a team that won four Tennessee high school football Class 6A state championships in the last five years. Wyatt will join fellow DB/RBs Craig Tutt and Justin Haggard in helping the Patriots solidify their dynasty.
Wyatt and the Patriots will open the 2025-26 Tennessee high school football season against defending Division II-AA state champions and new DII-AAA competitors Christ Presbyterian Academy on August 22. This matchup might feature Wyatt covering Alabama commit Owen Cabell or running back Rawls Patterson.
