Illinois High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 13

The high school football season continued in Illinois last week, as many of the top programs in the Prairie State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Illinois high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 13.
1. Mount Carmel Caravan
The best team in Illinois high school football remained undefeated after a 35-7 road victory against Joliet Catholic. It’s the second time they have limited an opponent to single-digit scoring this season. Mount Carmel will play Fenwick on October 17.
2. Lincoln-Way East Griffins
The Griffins improved to 7-0 after a 42-14 victory against Homewood-Flossmoor. They have scored at least 40 points in all their games, highlighting their offensive efficiency. Lincoln-Way East will return to action with a road game against Naperville North on the 17th.
3. East St. Louis Flyers
The Flyers extended their winning streak to four games after a 55-7 demolition of Belleville East. East St. Louis’ rushing attack was humming, thanks to Myson Johnson-Cook (163 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and Amir Tillman (44 yards, three TDs). Meanwhile, the Flyers’ defense generated 27 tackles for losses (including six sacks). East St. Louis returns to action against O’Fallon on the 17th.
4. Brother Rice Crusaders
After losing to Mount Carmel, the Crusaders responded with a 52-14 victory against Notre Dame College Prep. It’s the second time this season that Brother Rice crossed the 50-point mark. The Crusaders can start another winning streak in the 2025 Illinois high school football season by defeating St. Laurence on October 17.
5. Glenbard West Hilltoppers
The Hilltoppers improved to 7-0 after a 44-20 road victory against Hinsdale Central. The Glenbard West offense is humming, as proven by scoring 107 points in its last two games. They return to action against York on the 17th.
6. Maine South Hawks
The Hawks stretched their winning streak to six games after blanking Glenbrook North 56-0. It’s Maine South’s second shutout victory this year and the fifth time they’ve limited an opponent to single-digit scoring. The Hawks will host Glenbrook South on the 17th.

7. Loyola Academy Ramblers
The Ramblers remained in the Illinois high school football top ten despite a 21-20 loss to Providence Catholic. While this defeat dropped Loyola Academy to 4-2, the Ramblers can get back to the winning track by beating Carmel Catholic on the 17th.
8. Nazareth Academy Roadrunners
The Roadrunners stretched their winning streak to four games after a 43-0 shutout victory against De La Salle Chicago. A 28-point first-quarter explosion was enough to keep the game out of the Meteors’ reach. Nazareth Academy will travel to Benet Academy on the 17th.
9. Lincoln Way West Warriors
The Warriors are at 6-0 after beating DeKalb 52-21. Lincoln-Way West scored 21, 14, and 10 points in the last three quarters to remain undefeated. The Warriors can remain undefeated by defeating Bradley-Bourbonnais on the 17th.
10. Barrington Broncos
After losing to Maine South, the Broncos have extended their winning streak to three games after beating Fremd 23-7. Lamar Osterheus had 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while the Barrington defense made four sacks and three interceptions. The Broncos will travel to Schaumburg on the 17th.
