Maryland High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 21

The high school football season continued in Maryland last week, as many of the top programs in the Old Line State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Maryland high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 21.

1. St. Frances Academy Panthers

The Panthers picked up an easy 29-7 victory against Hun School, marking the fourth time they’ve limited an opponent to seven points or less. As the 2025 Maryland high school football season continues, St. Frances Academy will have a bye week before facing The St. James Academy on November 1.

2. DeMatha Catholic Stags

While the Stags scored only 12 points against Bishop McNamara, it was enough to keep them undefeated this season. DeMatha Catholic can go to 8-0 with a win against District of Columbia’s St. John’s College on October 24. 

3. Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers

The Cavaliers have won five straight after defeating Concordia Prep 49-10. Archbishop Spalding can improve to 7-2 with a victory against Loyola Blakefield on the 24th.

4. Good Counsel Falcons

The Falcons escaped with a 17-13 victory against St. John’s College. Jackson Rice threw touchdown passes to Kobe Ellis and Corey Smith. Good Counsel will continue their 2025 Maryland high school football schedule against Gonzaga on the 24th.

5. McDonogh School Eagles

The Eagles’ three-game winning streak ended at Calvert Hall’s hands. The 28-21 defeat dropped McDonogh School’s record to 5-2. They can bounce back by defeating Concordia Prep on October 25.
