Coach believes his team's gonna be in a dog fight tonight in Vegas - love the sound of that, don't you? - so there's a good chance senior strongman Gabe Prucha (8) plays key role in his team's game plan.

According to a report by the Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska’s No. 1 ranked Millard South Patriots have been disciplined for violations by the Nebraska Schools Activities Association (NSAA).

In accordance with acceptance of the penalties handed down by the NSAA for the violations, the Patriots must forfeit their season-opening 49-7 victory over Arbor View and first-year head coach Taylor Mendenhall is suspended for tonight’s contest against undefeated Kearney (2-0).

“Under NSAA policy the situation that led to the hearing involved confidential student information and was a closed hearing; therefore, the NSAA cannot release any information,” the NSAA said in a statement to the Omaha World-Herald per the report.

Additional penalties were handed down to the school as well, including a $500 fine, a written action plan for a lack of administrative oversight and the one-year suspension of a volunteer assistant coach.

Millard South (1-1) was off to a sizzling start to their 2025 season as they routed Arbor View (Nevada) and followed it up with a 65-0 win over Millard West. The Patriots had out-scored their first two opponents by a combined score of 114-7.

Alabama four-star commit Jett Thomalla quarterbacks the Patriots and had been off to a hit start himself behind center for Millard South. Thomalla through the two games had completed 30 of 41 passes for 511 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Despite the violations and penalties handed down to Millard South, the three-time state champions still remain easily the favorites to win Nebraska’s NSAA Class A state title this fall.
