North Carolina High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 13

The high school football season continued in North Carolina last week, as many of the top programs in the Tar Heel State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 North Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 13.

1. Providence Day School Chargers

The best team in North Carolina high school football remained undefeated after an explosive 71-0 shutout victory against Christ School. Zaid Lott had 225 passing yards and five touchdowns, while Aidan Gallos added 102 rushing yards and two TDs. Gordon Sellars finished with 70 passing yards and two touchdowns. Providence Day can go to 8-0 by defeating Charlotte Latin School on October 17.

2. William Amos Hough Huskies

The Huskies improved to 7-0 after a 66-0 beatdown of Garinger. Ethan Royal collected 177 passing yards, 30 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (three passing). Jayden White had 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. William Amos Hough will host South Mecklenburg on the 17th.

3. Grimsley Whirlies

The Whirlies are still perfect through seven games. Their latest conquest was a 43-8 drubbing of Ragsdale, wherein Brady Lowe finished with 266 passing yards and four touchdowns. Ty Shoemake had a couple of rushing touchdowns, while Hudson Cooper had two receiving TDs. Grimsley will visit Page on the 17th.

4. Weddington Warriors

The Warriors extended their winning streak to six games after dominating Cuthbertson 34-7. Weddington has limited five of their opponents to seven points or less. As the 2025 North Carolina high school football season continues for the Warriors, they can maintain their winning ways by handling Porter Ridge on the 17th.

5. Millbrook Wildcats

The Wildcats won seven consecutive games in dominating fashion. They defeated Broughton, 42-7, thanks largely to Bryson Gray’s 214 passing yards and three touchdowns. Millbrook advances to an October 17 home game against William G. Enloe.

6. Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders

The Crusaders have won two straight games after a 56-0 shutdown of Holly Springs. Conner Lindsey threw for three touchdowns, while Noah Terry had two rushing TDs. Connor McGeehan finished with 105 passing yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Hudson VanDyke had four tackles and an interception. Cardinal Gibbons will travel to face Middle Creek on the 17th.

7. West Charlotte Lions

After losing two of their first three games in the 2025 North Carolina high school football season, the Lions have won four straight after a 31-7 outcome against Independence. Jamouri Nichols passed for 226 yards and three touchdowns, while Donte Nicholson had 118 yards and two TDs. Sincere Gray added 115 rushing yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, West Charlotte’s defense generated 15 tackles for losses, including five sacks. The Lions will return to action against Butler on the 17th.

8. Cleveland Rams

The Rams remained perfect through seven games. In their 49-28 victory against Garner, Owen Hulbert had three rushing touchdowns, while Kaleb Ferrell added 108 rushing yards and a couple of scores. Meanwhile, Porter Bennett needed only eight carries to collect 111 yards. Jaylen King led Cleveland’s defense with 12 total tackles, including a sack. The Rams will visit Southeast Raleigh on the 17th.

9. Mallard Creek Mavericks

After losing to West Charlotte, the Mavericks bounced back by defeating North Mecklenburg 33-14. Cailen Napier tallied 134 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Xavier Edmond had a rushing TD. Next on Mallard Creek’s schedule is an October 17 road game versus Independence.

10. Myers Park Mustangs

The Mustangs complete the North Carolina high school football top ten after a 63-8 drubbing of Hopewell. They’ve surrendered only 34 points in their last five games, thanks to a defense that completed three interceptions against the Titans. Meanwhile, Ramir Watson had 150 passing yards, 73 rushing yards, and six touchdowns (four passing). Josh Falzarano finished with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Brody Keefe had a couple of receiving TDs. Myers Park can improve to 7-1 by defeating West Mecklenburg on October 17.
