North Carolina High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 21

The high school football season continued in North Carolina last week, as many of the top programs in the Tar Heel State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 North Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 21.
1. Providence Day School Chargers
Providence Day have completed back-to-back shutout victories after defeating Charlotte Latin. Zaid Lott rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, while Aidan Gallos added 78 rushing yards and a TD. Quintin McCray and Steele Fletcher each scored a touchdown. The best team in North Carolina high school football will have a road game against Charlotte Christian on October 24.
2. William Amos Hough Huskies
The Huskies are at 8-0 following their 42-10 victory against South Mecklenburg. Ethan Royal finished with 187 passing yards, 88 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. Jayden White caught seven passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns. William Amos Hough will travel to Myers Park on the 24th.
3. Grimsley Whirlies
The Whirlies improved to 8-0 after a 48-14 victory against Page. From a 20-14 first quarter, Grimsley scored 28 unanswered points the rest of the way to remain undefeated. The Whirlies will return to action on October 24 against Dudley.
4. Weddington Warriors
The Warriors have a seven-game winning streak following their 42-0 shutout victory against Porter Ridge. Weddington’s 2025 North Carolina high school football season will continue against Piedmont on the 24th.
5. Millbrook Wildcats
The Wildcats remain undefeated after a 49-0 shutout victory against William G. Enloe. Bryson Gray threw for 155 passing yards and three touchdowns completed to Malachi Thomas, Malachi Gilchrist, and Michael Watkins Jr. Millbrook can get to 9-0 by defeating Wakefield on the 24th.
6. Cleveland Rams
The Rams won their eighth straight game after a 28-10 triumph against Southeast Raleigh. Kaleb Ferrell had 21 carries for 187 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Porter Bennett added 96 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the Cleveland defense generated 18 tackles for losses and two interceptions. The Rams will play against Smithfield-Serna on the 24th.

7. Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders
Following their loss to Mallard Creek, the Crusaders compiled three consecutive victories, including their 40-14 win against Middle Creek. Connor McGeehan caught five balls for 163 yards and all of quarterback Conner Lindsey’s three touchdown passes. Cardinal Gibbons’ next game in the 2025 North Carolina high school football season will be against Sanderson on the 24th.
8. West Charlotte Lions
The Lions shut down Butler, 21-0, to earn their fifth straight victory. Jamil Watson scored a rushing touchdown, while Sincere Gray finished with 109 rushing yards. West Charlotte will proceed to their game against Chambers on October 24.
9. Myers Park Mustangs
The Mustangs have limited their opponents to eight points or less for four consecutive games. In their 42-0 shutout win against West Mecklenburg, Ramir Watson threw for three touchdowns and Josh Falzarano Jr. had two rushing TDs. Myers Park will face powerhouse William Amos Hough on the 24th.
10. Mooresville Blue Devils
The Blue Devils owned a 6-2 record after their 42-9 victory against Davie County. Brody Norman threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns, while Ja’Darius McCombs had a trio of rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Mooresville defense fired from all cylinders, tallying 11 sacks, with three courtesy of Kamdon Gillespie. The Blue Devils will battle against Statesville on the 24th.
