The high school football season continued in North Carolina last week, as many of the top programs in the Tar Heel State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 North Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 27.

1. Providence Day School Chargers

The best team in North Carolina high school football improved to 9-0 after a 46-20 victory over Charlotte Christian. Zaid Lott threw for 206 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Aidan Gallos rushed for 111 yards and two TDs. Gordon Sellars finished for 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Providence Day School will close the 2025 regular season against Charlotte Country Day on October 30.

2. William Amos Hough Huskies

The Huskies kept their perfect season intact after defeating Myers Park 28-6. William Amos Hough can go to 10-0 with a victory over Hopewell on October 30.

3. Grimsley Whirlies

The Whirlies improved to 9-0 after a 42-14 victory against Dudley. Grimsley’s 21-point third quarter proved to be the difference in their game versus the Panthers. The Whirlies’ 2025 North Carolina high school football regular season will close against Ben L. Smith on October 31.

4. Weddington Warriors

The Warriors are on an eight-game winning streak after completing a 49-0 shutout of Piedmont. Weddington has three shutout victories in their last four games and have limited seven opponents to seven points or less. The Warriors’ 9-1 record should be enough to carry them to the playoffs.

5. Millbrook Wildcats

The Wildcats have dominated the opposition by completing three shutout victories in their last four games. In their 55-0 win over Wakefield, Bryson Gray threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns, while Brilison McCullers had two rushing touchdowns. McCullers also had a receiving touchdown, so did Taden Martin and Malachi Gilchrist. Millbrook will finish the 2025 North Carolina high school football regular season against Corinth Holders on October 31.
