The postseason began in the Tar Heel State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 North Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 10.

1. Providence Day School Chargers

The Chargers remain undefeated after a 45-0 shutout victory against North Raleigh Christian Academy in the first round of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association Division 1 playoffs. Zaid Lott threw for 342 passing yards and four touchdowns, while adding another rushing TD. Brendan Ravin finished with 142 receiving yards and two TDs. Ravin also had two interceptions, while the Providence Day School defense generated three sacks. The Chargers will face Cannon School in the semifinals on November 14.

2. William Amos Hough Huskies

The Huskies improved to 10-0 after defeating Hopewell 56-0. Ethan Royal threw for 148 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Marvin Reed, Kynis Tinnin, and Jamarion Morrison each had a rushing touchdown. Jayden White and Jahmere Anderson each had a receiving score, while the William Amos Hough defense made four fumble recoveries. The Huskies will face Palisades in the second round of the Class 8A state playoffs on November 14.

3. Grimsley Whirlies

The Whirlies remained perfect after a 45-8 victory over Ben L. Smith. After getting a bye in the first round of the North Carolina high school football Class 7A state playoffs, Grimsley will face West Cabarrus in round two on November 14.

4. Weddington Warriors

The Warriors are on an eight-game winning streak after a 49-0 shutout victory against Piedmont. It’s the third time that Weddington has blanked their opponents and the seventh time they’ve limited their foes to seven points or less. After earning a bye in the opening round of the Class 7A state playoffs, Weddington will face Marvin Ridge in the next round on the 14th. 

5. Millbrook Wildcats

The Wildcats are now at 10-0 after a 25-6 victory over Corinth Holders. Bryson Gray finished with 258 passing yards and a touchdown, while Malachi Thomas made ten catches for 106 yards. Malachi Gilchrist and Brilison McCullers each scored a touchdown. On defense, Quinton Cypher generated 19 total tackles, while Chase Sizer added 15. After enjoying a bye, Millbrook will start the North Carolina high school football Class 8A state playoffs against Panther Creek on November 14.
