The ink isn’t dry on the 2025 high school football season just yet but we’re already starting to see some top prospects announce their plans for 2026. A blue-chip quarterback is on the move.

On Friday afternoon, four-star QB Keegan Croucher announced that he is transferring to Baylor School (Tenn.) to finish his high school career. He spent the last two seasons at Cheshire Academy (Conn.).

As a junior for Cheshire, Croucher played nine games and threw for 1,692 yards and 16 touchdowns to six interceptions, according to MaxPreps. The Cats went 7-3 this fall and finished as the No. 7 team in Connecticut, per the Massey Ratings.

That followed an impressive sophomore campaign where Croucher threw for 2,052 yards and 20 touchdowns to three picks. He averaged 228 yards per game and also rushed for a score. Croucher emerged as a freshman in his lone season at Fonda-Fultonville (N.Y.), his hometown school, throwing for nearly 3,000 yards and 31 TDs.

Baylor just capped off an undefeated 12-0 season with a 3A Division II state title. The Red Raiders were led by senior four-star QB and Louisville signee Briggs Cherry. They finished as the top-ranked team in Tennessee and the No. 65 team nationally. Now, they’ve already landed another top-notch signal-caller to help reload for the 2026 season.

Croucher is the No. 204 overall prospect and No. 18 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He now checks in as the No. 9 player in Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4.5, 200-pounder committed to Ole Miss on Oct. 5, choosing the Rebels over Oregon and Penn State. He’s remained pledged to the Rebels despite the departure of head coach Lane Kiffin and many other assistants.

”Ole Miss jumped out to me right away,” Croucher told Rivals about his decision this fall. “The offense they have and built was the first intriguing thing about them. My first visit down there went as expected and was amazing. Getting to know the coaches and the staff down there was awesome. Everyone down there is awesome. They have amazing hospitality and are very respectful.”

Croucher is now moving much closer to Oxford for his final year of high school football.
