The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way to over to Louisiana where the top team in the state, Edna Karr, takes aim at winning another state title. The Cougars are loaded with talent across the board. With early tests on their schedule, can Edna Karr go unbeaten once again this fall?

Player Spotlight: S Aiden Hall

The LSU commitment helped lead a Cougars’ defensive unit that only yielded 13 points per game on their way to winning the LHSAA Division I Select state championship last fall. Aiden Hall, who is ranked the No. 6 prospect in Louisiana, leads a very talented Edna Karr defense that features multiple other Power Four level prospects. Whether its patrolling the secondary or coming up into the box and laying a hit, Hall is about as good as they come in the Big Easy.

Others to watch: DL Richard Anderson, CB Hayward Howard Jr., OL Leon Noil, CB Maurice Williams, OL Zyion Wesley

Season Prediction: 9-0

There’s little reason to think that Edna Karr won’t win another state championship this fall. The path to prosperity seems to be there for the Cougars, making it a ripe situation for a repeat this fall. Better question for this very team is can they come away undefeated, facing the likes of Florida’s American Heritage and a few state powerhouses. We believe that answer is yes when taking a look at what kind of talent Edna Karr has on the back end defensively and playing at home has its advantages in front of the home faithful. An unbeaten season for the Cougars looks more than possible.

Game-By-Game Predictions

Sep. 12 – American Heritage (Fla.) Patriots – W
There might not be a better game in the state that week. The Cougars face off against five-star Texas commit Dia Bell and, behind a strong secondary effort, Edna Karr escapes with a win.

Sept. 19 – McDonogh 35 (La.) Roneagles – W
The Cougars follow up the huge opening season victory with a rout of the Roneagles at home.

Sept. 26 – at Holy Cross (La.) Tigers – W
Edna Karr keeps the good times rolling as they pickup another blowout victory, this time on the road.

Oct. 3 – at St. Augustine (La.) Purple Knights – W
Playing up against one of New Orleans’ better programs, the Cougars notch a 36-14 decision over the Purple Knights.

Oct. 9 – Brother Martin (La.) Crusaders – W
Back at home and Edna Karr cruises past Brother Martin for win No. 5.

Oct. 17 – Jesuit (La.) Blue Jays – W
Though Jesuit is considered one of Louisiana’s top teams, they stand no chance in a 38-7 win for Edna Karr.

Oct. 24 – Warren Easton (La.) Fighting Eagles – W
The Cougars can see the finish line of the regular season and they blow by the Fighting Eagles, 42-7.

Oct. 31 – at John Curtis (La.) Patriots – W
Honestly the last difficult test for Edna Karr before the playoffs, and the Cougars pass to improve to 8-0 after a 35-15 win.

Nov. 6 – at Archbishop Rummel (La.) Raiders – W
Edna Karr closes out the season with a easy victory over Archbishop Rummel.
