The latest Rivals300 recruiting rankings for the 2026 class are out and if anything has changed when it comes to the most talent-rich (and population-dense) states, it’s that the Lone Star State once again leads the pack.

Texas edges out Florida by six players when it comes to producing the most Rivals300 talent, with Southeast neighbor Georgia behind them with 33 in the latest update. California sits in fourth place (25), with Ohio this time around is all by itself for the fifth and final spot.

With the rankings release, Rivals is breaking down where the top 300 prospects in the country this cycle hail from near the end of the high school football season:

Texas – 43

The Lone Star State for most of 2025 has led the charge when it comes to football talent and the latest update keeps Texas ahead of its counterparts. Texas continued to add to its lead from last time, going from five to now six more players than any other state in the nation.

When it comes to states with the most players within the top 100 of the Rivals300, Texas ties Georgia with 12 prospects.

Oregon commit Jalen Lott was the top prospect out of Texas in the previous update, but taking over as the leader is Houston pledge Keisean Henderson, who goes moves up 46 spots from No. 53 to now being at No. 7.

Florida 37

Florida gets the second spot in this latest cycle all to itself as there’s just under 40 players this time around hailing from the Sunshine State. Florida is just behind Texas and Georgia’s 12 players inside of the Top 100 with 11.

Texas quarterback commit Dia Bell dropped eleven spots from No. 9 to No. 21 overall in today’s update, but still remains the state’s the lone five-star. The player that saw his stock rise the most in this latest cycle from Florida is Miami commitment Somourian Wingo (St. Augustine, Fla.), who soared 40 spots from No. 62 to No. 22.

Georgia – 33

The gap between Peach State and California has narrowed a little bit in this latest update as Georgia last time had 11 more players and now is at eight compared to the Golden State. With the state seeing higher levels of play across the board with their high school football teams, that has correlated to the number of players into of the Top 100 with Georgia tied with Texas (12).

You don’t see any Georgia players until you get to Alabama defensive end commit Jamarion Matthews at No. 46 followed right by four-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson (Texas commitment) at No. 47. Highest rated newbie to break into the Rivals300 is Jared Doughty (Alabama commit) at No. 64.

California – 25

There’s not a lot changes for California in these last couple of cycles, though they have started to catch up a little bit to Georgia and have cut their lead from the previous update down from 11 to eight. The Golden State’s highest ranked prospect this time around is Ohio State five-star commit Khary Wilder of Junipero Serra.

Texas five-star commit Richard Wesley of Sierra Canyon is the only other players that join Wilder inside of the top 20. Next highest rated player after Wilder and Wesley is Mater Dei’s Mark Bowman (USC commitment) at No. 32.

Eleven of the top 100 prospects in the Rivals300 are from California.

Ohio – 16

Rounding out the Top five states of the Rivals300 is the Buckeye State as it’s well represented and this time takes the fifth spot all alone. Last time, Ohio shared fifth place with Alabama, but has created a sizable advantage in the latest update.

Five-star Ohio State offensive tackle commit Sam Greer remains the Buckeye State’s standout in the Rivals300, coming in at No. 33. The only other two players from Ohio to join Greer inside of the Top 100 are USC commitment Elbert Hill and Ohio State pledge Cincere Johnson.
