The University Interscholastic League (UIL) football state championships continue tomorrow as teams from the Lone Star State are heading to the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in hopes of bringing a title back home. Arguably the biggest state championship matchup of the dais pits the red-hot DeSoto Eagles versus the C.E. King Panthers. Both teams bring state championship pedigrees to the table and this tilt features some of the best high school football talent Texas has to offer. We preview the Saturday night matchup between the two Lone Star football giants.

DeSoto Players to Watch

WR Boobie FeasterBest player on the field is arguably the USC signee as Feaster has feasted on secondaries all season long. The senior dynamo has hauled in 88 passes for 1,474 yards and 19 touchdowns.

RB SaRod BakerThere’s probably only a few running backs in the country playing at the level Baker is right now. Baker just received an offer from the Texas Longhorns and so far this season has rushed 3,081 yards and 41 touchdowns.

DL K’Adrian RedmondThe Texas Tech commitment is going to be relied upon to get heavy pressure on C.E. King signal caller Timothy Potts all afternoon long.

QB Legend Howell: We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention DeSoto’s signal caller, right? Howell has progressed throughout the season, with the quarterback throwing for 2,455 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.

C.E. King Players to Watch

ATH Dillon Mitchell: Mitchell, a 2028 three-star athlete, has totaled over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 16 total touchdowns this season for the Panthers. Expect the sophomore sensation to have a major role in Saturday night’s contest.

RB Dionne Sims: The Rice signee has been the workhorse for the Panthers’ offensive attack as the running back has rushed for a team-high 1,883 yards and 26 touchdowns.

RB Antwon Sanders: The junior running pairs with Sims for one of the top tailback duos at the Texas high school state championships. Sanders has rushed for 767 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.

WR Lejerric Clark: Clark is the team’s leading receiver this season as the C.E. King’s top pass catcher as the senior has caught 43 passes for 841 yards and seven touchdowns.
