The Texas high school football regular season is just about concluded and as the UIL postseason is just on the horizon

The Southlake Carroll Dragons completed a 10-0 season as they defeated Keller Central, 49-3. When looking at the other few teams towards the top, no changes has taken place with Texas is just a week away before going into the playoffs. So which other Lone Star State programs made a move up the latest set of Top 25 rankings?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Texas high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Nov. 3.

1. Southlake Carroll Dragons

Southlake Carroll finished going 10-0 this season as they romped Keller Central, 49-3. The Dragons have been by far the most consistent team in Texas high school football season and every week on the field, the validate that.

The Dragons (10-0) closed out the regular season by out-scoring their last four opponents by a combined score of 221-13.

Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda (2,936 yards, 29 touchdowns) and his favorite target, Ohio State pledge Brock Boyd, who hauled in 111 passes for 1,868 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024, remain the state’s top quarterback-wide receiver tandem. Boyd through the regular season has caught 58 passes for 905 yards and 12 touchdowns.

2. Allen Eagles

The five-time UIL state champion Allen Eagles (9-0) had no problems taking care of business as they cruised to a 63-0 win over McKinney Boyd last week.

The Eagles have been dominant through their first nine games as they opened with a 46-13 victory over Midland Legacy, breezed by Cedar Hill, 38-0 and then thumped Rock Hill in a 70-14 rout before cruising past Plano in a 55-0 romp. Allen then rolled to a 62-14 victory over Princeton before thrashing Plano West, 55-7, and McKinney Boyd.

The Eagles look to finish out the regular season with a 10-0 record against Plano East.

3. Aledo Bearcats

The Aledo Bearcats (9-0) have been dominant over the last three games, beating Azle, Granbury, Richland by a combined score of 206-10.

Despite last year’s starter Gavin Beard transferring to All Saints Episcopal, which opened the door for Nash McElree to emerge as the team’s QB1, and the Bearcats have looked just fine in the second half of play.

Aledo has simply taken care of business week after week, starting against a solid Lancaster squad, coming away with the 18-0 win then dispatching Brewer, 54-7, easily rolling by Birdville in a 56-7 rout and then Fossil Ridge most recently before defeating Ryan.

The Bearcats close out the regular season with Denton this week.

4. Duncanville Panthers

Don’t look now, but Duncanville (6-1) is beginning to play some of their best football of the season. The Panthers pulled off their biggest win of the 2025 season a few weeks ago when they soundly defeated DeSoto, 48-28.

The Panthers followed that up with big victory with wins up over Lancaster and Horn as they continue to roll since their loss to Waxahachie back on Sep. 19.

Duncanville continues to be considered a state title contender in the UIL’s Class 6A, Division I classification. Other key players this fall to watch for from the Panthers are four-star edge rushers Kevin Ford (Florida commit) and Landon Barnes (Ole Miss commit), wide receiver Trenton Yancey and cornerback Braylon Edwards (SMU commit).

Panthers close out regular season play on Thursday night versus Cedar Hill.

5. North Crowley Panthers

North Crowley (8-1) looks like they’re clicking on all cylinders, as they have out-scored their last three opponents by a combined 209-45. The Panthers most recent victory was a 70-21 rout of Mansfield last week.

What head coach Ray Gates and his staff have to figure out is how they will get the team refocused after losing for the first time since 2023. North Crowley still keeps its sights set on winning the UIL Class 6A, Division I state championship this fall.

The Panthers still feature what has to still be considered one of the more talented defensive secondaries in the Lone Star State, which includes players like Texas Tech commit Aaron Bradshaw, three-star safety Elijajuan Houston, four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse and Colorado State commit Thomas Cook. 

The Panthers last regular season contest is this week against Crowley this week.
