Texas High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Oct. 19

The Texas high school football season now is in its final weeks of play as the UIL postseason is right on the horizon for teams as they battle for playoff positioning.
The Southlake Carroll Dragons kept up their winning ways as the state’s No. 1 spot as rolled to a 57-7 drubbing of Northwest last week. So which other Lone Star State programs made a move up the latest set of Top 25 rankings?
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here is the latest Texas high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 19.
1. Southlake Carroll Dragons
Southlake Carroll are destined to go 10-0 this season based on the way they’re playing. The Dragons have been by far the most consistent team in Texas high school football season and every week on the field, the validate that.
The Dragons (8-0) latest victory was a 57-7 thrashing over Northwest, with Southlake Carroll out-scoring their last two opponents by a combined 123-14.
Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda (2,431 yards, 25 touchdowns) and his favorite target, Ohio State pledge Brock Boyd, who hauled in 111 passes for 1,868 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024, remain the state’s top quarterback-wide receiver tandem. Boyd through seven games has caught 45 passes for 694 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Southlake Carroll this week takes to the road to face off against Bell (5-2).
2. Allen Eagles
The five-time UIL state champion Allen Eagles (7-0) remain the state’s No. 2 team after a 55-7 thumping of Plano West last week.
The Eagles have been dominant through their first seven games as they opened with a 46-13 victory over Midland Legacy, breezed by Cedar Hill, 38-0 and then thumped Rock Hill in a 70-14 rout before cruising past Plano in a 55-0 romp. Previous week they had rolled to a 62-14 victory over Princeton.
Allen has their toughest game of the season this week against No. 6 ranked Prosper.
The Eagles have utilized both senior Jeremiah Daoud and freshman quarterback Ty Snell behind center this season. Daoud has completed 74 of 100 passes for 1,160 yards and 14 touchdowns and Snell has thrown for 707 and seven scores.
3. Duncanville Panthers
Duncanville (4-1) pulled off their biggest win of the 2025 season a couple weeks ago when they soundly defeated DeSoto, 48-28, behind a huge performance from junior quarterback Maximus The Great Denson.
The 6-foot-1, 173-pound passer was surgical in picking apart Eagles’ defensive backfield as Denson completed 23 of 31 passes for 328 yards and the seven scores.
The Panthers followed that big win up with a dominating, 35-10 victory over Lancaster as they continue to roll since their loss to Waxahachie back on Sep. 19.
Duncanville continues to be considered a state title contender in the UIL’s Class 6A, Division I classification. Other key players this fall to watch for from the Panthers are four-star edge rushers Kevin Ford (Florida commit) and Landon Barnes (Ole Miss commit), wide receiver Trenton Yancey and cornerback Braylon Edwards (SMU commit).
Panthers are back on the field Friday night against Horn (1-6).
4. Prosper Eagles
The Prosper Eagles (7-0) started the season off with an impressive victory over Westlake in a 29-22 decision and then upended Rockwall-Heath, 45-27. Eagles latest win was a 59-0 shellacking of McKinney last week.

Up front on the offensive line, the team features a trio of future FBS commitments in four-stars Bryce Gilmore (Arkansas), Zaden Krempin (Texas A&M), Sean Stover (Duke) and 6-foot-4, 285-pound junior Will Endicott.
Prosper has their biggest game of the season, top tilt in Texas this week when they face off against No. 2 Allen.
5. North Crowley Panthers
North Crowley (5-1) notched their biggest win of the season in terms of margin of victory, 70-7, over Weatherford last week.
What head coach Ray Gates and his staff have to figure out is how they will get the team refocused after losing for the first time since 2023. North Crowley still keeps its sights set on winning the UIL Class 6A, Division I state championship this fall.
The Panthers still feature what has to still be considered one of the more talented defensive secondaries in the Lone Star State, which includes players like Texas Tech commit Aaron Bradshaw, three-star safety Elijajuan Houston, four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse and Colorado State commit Thomas Cook.
The Panthers returns home on Friday night to take on Boswell (3-4).
