Kaegan Ash (Texas Tech commit) rushed for 420 yards and six touchdowns in Mount Enterprise‘s 74-46 UIL Class 2A, Division II playoff victory over Overton. Ash is approaching the single-season Texas rushing record that has stood since 1953.

The future Red Raider is currently at 3,793 yards on the season, chasing Kenneth Hall‘s Texas high school football state record of 4,045.

What record Ash did end up breaking that’s been standing since the 1980’s is that of former Sheridan (IN) running back Brett Law, who scored 453 points back in 1988. Ash ended up surpassing Law’s record and now sits with 476 points and counting as Mount Enterprise moves on to the next round of the Class 2A, Division II playoffs as they have secured a spot in the state quarterfinals.

Ash now sits with 69 touchdowns on the season and is taking aim at the all-time single season touchdowns record, currently held by former Tulare Union (Calif.) Kazmeir Allen, who scored 72 scores back in 2017.

The senior running back has committed to Texas Tech as a linebacker and Ash has also played plenty of defense for Mount Enterprise this season. Ash on the defensive side of the ball has totaled 89 tackles, 19 going for a loss, 6.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.
