Three-star high school basketball prospect Alex Smith transfers to Prolific Prep
Prolific Prep announced the addition of Ohio State commit Alex Smith to their stacked roster for the 2025-26 high school basketball season.
In a video uploaded to their account on X/Twitter, Prolific Prep head coach Ryan Bernardi was relaxing on a boat when he gestured to receive a phone call from Smith. “What’s up, coach? I’ve got some big news. I’m all in. Let’s get to it,” the incoming senior said. A montage of Smith’s in-game highlights followed the announcement.
Alex Smith played his junior year for Upper Arlington (Ohio) and averaged 19.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. His contributions helped the Golden Bears finish with a 14-10 record and a stint in the Ohio high school basketball Division 1 state tournament.
Meanwhile, Smith will be joining a team filled with top-notch talent. Recently, four-star point guard Nasir Anderson recently announced his transfer from Norcross to Prolific Prep. Smith and Anderson will team up with five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt, four-star forward Bruce Branch, power forward Davion Adkins, and three-star forward Seven Spurlock.
