Trevor Ariza spent 18 seasons playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and his son, Tajh, looks to be next in the family bloodline to play on the next level. Collegiately that is.

The younger Ariza posted Wednesday via X, formerly known as Twitter, that he has been offered by the University of North Carolina, the latest offer to roll in for the Class of 2026 5-star high school basketball prospect.

‘Thankful to receive a d1 offer from Coach Hubert Davis at UNC!! Thank you to the rest of the staff for believing in me and my ability!’

The younger Ariza played at his father’s alma mater, Westchester High School, this past 2024-2025 season, leading the Comets to a City Section Open Division title by defeating Gilbert Arenas’ son, Alijah, and Chatsworth High School.

The 6-foot-9 forward finished this past spring averaging 27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists per game.

During the off-season, however, Tajh transferred out of Westchester and is now enrolled at St. John Bosco, a team that reached the CIF Southern Section’s Open Division finals.

When it comes to offers, Tajh has a boatload of them already and they continue to streamline in this summer. Among the offers on the table for the 5-star forward are Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, UNLV, USC and Washington.

The elder Ariza played on 10 NBA teams throughout his career, winning a championship in 2009 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He played for the Lakers, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Hornets, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat.
