Utah High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 13

Many high school football programs in Utah will play their final regular season game this week. The Massey Ratings continue to feature the same programs at the top.
Each of the top 10 teams in the Beehive State remain the same with the order just slightly altered. Corner Canyon remains at No. 1 heading into its final game. Many games this week will go down on Wednesday, including four high-profile ranked matchups.
Below are the top 25 teams in Utah heading into the tenth week of the season, according to the Massey Ratings.
1. Corner Canyon Chargers (7-1)
Star senior quarterback and Texas A&M commit Helaman Casuga has now thrown 100 touchdowns in his Corner Canyon career. The Chargers won a top-five battle over American Fork 37-21. Casuga threw for two TDs and also rushed for a pair of scores in the victory. Corner Canyon did not play the first week in October and will now close out its regular season on Wednesday against No. 8 Lehi. The Massey Ratings predict a 40-20 win for the Chargers.
2. Skyridge Falcons (6-2)
Skyridge took down No. 3 Lone Peak in a fantastic double-overtime battle two weeks ago and got to recuperate with a bye over the weekend. The Falcons’ losses have come against Corner Canyon and Cherry Creek, the No. 1 program in Colorado. Senior quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne and Co. will round out the regular season at No. 5 American Fork on Wednesday.
3. Lone Peak Knights (5-4)
Coming off the double-OT heartbreaker to No. 2 Skyridge, Lone Peak was unable to get back on the horse and has now dropped a third game in a row. Lehi hosted the No. 3 Knights and won 34-6. It’s been a bumpy rollercoaster for Lone Peak, as its last win came over No. 1 Corner Canyon on Sept. 19. It now closes the regular season at No. 24 Bingham on Wednesday.
4. Davis Darts (8-1)
It was more of the same for Davis last week as it went to Layton and won 42-7. Star senior quarterback Tradon Bessinger continued his torrid campaign with 254 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Darts’ defense has been impressive for most of the season, too. With five ranked victories under their belt already, the Darts will look for No. 6 in the regular-season finale this Wednesday against No. 22 Weber.
5. American Fork Cavemen (6-3)
American Fork competed with Corner Canyon but just didn’t have enough in a 16-point loss. All three of the Cavemen’s defeats have come against top-10 teams in the state. In the latest loss, senior running back Prince Afu tallied 32 carries for 159 yards. American Fork has already played three of the other four top five teams in the state and it’ll close the regular season against No. 2 Skyridge on Wednesday.
