Virginia High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 28

The high school football season continued in Virginia last week, as many of the top programs in the Old Dominion were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Virginia high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 28.
1. The St. James Academy Strivers
The newcomers topped the Virginia high school football rankings. They remained undefeated through eight games, especially after a 14-12 victory over St. Thomas More. St. James Academy will close the regular season against Maryland’s St. Frances Academy on November 1.
2. Maury Commodores
The Commodores are on a seven-game winning streak after defeating Lake Taylor. Maury has surrendered only 20 points in their last five games. They can continue this dominance by defeating Manor on October 31.
3. Benedictine Cadets
While the Cadets scored only seven points in their last game, it was enough to keep them undefeated through nine games. A passing touchdown before halftime proved to be the winning score. Benedictine will close the 2025 Virginia high school football season against Trinity Episcopal on November 1.
4. Riverbend Bears
The Bears are still perfect through eight games. In their 47-0 shutout victory against Stafford, Ian Shook had a rushing and a passing touchdown, while Dwayne Stewart had a receiving TD. Riverbend will face Massaponax on October 31.
