The 2025 Wisconsin high school football season is entering postseason action as the state playoffs loom ahead.

Arrowhead Warhawks are the No. 1 team in Wisconsin heading into the first week of Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) postseason play, coming off a 42-0 rout of Kettle Moraine last week. From powerhouse programs with rich traditions to promising underdogs looking to make a statement, here are the Top 25 teams in Wisconsin, according to Massey.

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Wisconsin high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 21.

1. Arrowhead Warhawks

Arrowhead Warhawks (8-1) entered the 2025 season looking to win their first state crown since 2013 and have started off fast with six wins this season. The Warhawks had an easy go of it last week in the regular season finale against Kettle Moraine, winning 42-0.

Jacob Siner (81 carries, 723 yards) has been the driving force behind Arrowhead’s offense this season and along with fellow back Jebari Craig Jr. (373 yards). Arrowhead starting signal caller Nolan Hanson (66 of 108 passes, 854 yards) has been steady with wide receivers Logan Crowley (19 catches, 267 yards) and Ryan Heiman (18 catches, 252 yards) leading the way.

The Warhawks kickoff the WIAA Division I playoffs against Wausau West (4-4).

2. Muskego Warriors

The Muskego Warriors (8-1) started off last season with a 3-3 record before going the rest of the way 6-2, with Muskego losing to Bay Port, 25-18, in the Division I state championship.

Muskego got off to a much better start and just recently upended top-ranked Arrowhead, 21-17, a couple weeks ago. The Warriors have been playing very well defensively, allowing just 107 points this fall through nine games. Muskego pulled off a 38-21 win over Mukwonago and kickoff the WIAA Division I playoffs with a matchup against West (5-4).

3. Franklin Sabers

Aside from the season opening 23-20 win over Catholic Memorial, the Franklin Sabers (9-0) have been otherwise dominant, especially defensively, throughout the course of the 2025 season. The Sabers cruised in the regular season finale, defeating Horlick, 49-14.

What usually hasn’t been a problem is for Franklin is scoring and stopping opponents, as the Sabers are averaging around 40 points per game and holding opposing offenses to less than 10 a contest. There’s a real chance that Franklin could make a legitimate run to the WIAA’s Division I state championship game.

Franklin begins their quest to the top of Division I when they face Riverside (2-5) this Friday night.

4. Waunakee Warriors

Waunakee (9-0) are currently riding a 37-game winning streak against conference opponents and look to extend that throughout these 2025 WIAA playoffs.

The Warriors’ defense has been easily one of the best in the state, only yielding 87 points through nine games.

Waunakee is looking to return to the top of Wisconsin high school football mountain top for the first time since 2021 and they’ll continuing relying upon a stout defense plus needing a solid campaign from starting quarterback Cole Krause. The 6-foot-2 signal caller passed for 243 yards in 2024. This week the Warriors start the state’s Division I postseason versus Chippewa Falls.

5. Homestead Highlanders

Rounding out the Top 5 of the rankings is the Homestead Highlanders (8-0), who sits undefeated heading into the WIAA Division II playoffs. What has been the backbone of Homestead’s success throughout the regular season is the superb play of their high-octane offense, which has averaged a sizzling 42.8 points per game.

The Highlanders begin the D-II postseason up against Menomonee Falls.
