Nimitz High School, located in Irving, Texas, is one of the Dallas–Fort Worth area’s respected public-school athletic programs and has built a strong tradition of competition across multiple sports. Known as the Vikings, the school competes in the University Interscholastic League and fields teams in football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, golf, tennis, swimming, track and field, and cross country. The Vikings are particularly recognized for football, basketball, and baseball, with programs that have earned district championships, playoff appearances, and produced numerous collegiate athletes.
