While I was always a huge fan of Marcus Lattimore, I'd say 'no' on that one. Whether you agree or disagree with his stances, he's become far too political and chaotic to be a college coach at the present. He recently told South Carolina fans to burn his jersey if they shared a different opinion from him. I wish him the best, but that'd be a powder keg waiting to explode.

So you're saying the professors at USC failed him?

I cannot believe a great recruiter like him was let go.

That’s what I’m hoping. And it would help explain the ability to keep the class together when it could have done downhill quickly.

While many are loony and stray from teaching, I Don’t think it can fall on them….Eventually you run out of people to blame, circumstances, etc. it’s called growing up. most of us have done just that

This needed to happen along time ago as well. So many questions for Howell, and why Fuller wasnt playing. No RB recruits since Fuller either. Great move.

I wasn't. I don't know what his interactions with the professors were like, my friend. I just know what I've seen from afar and, as I said before, while I've always been a huge fan of him... I would be highly skeptical of him as a coach currently. I think he's got all the ability, talent, and knowledge in the world. If anything, I'd bring him in as an on-field assistant and see where his head is at.

How many professors had the chance to teach him? Apparently after the influence of 3-4 years of gamecock professors, he's not a product you agree with? Black Panthers have valid arguments. I don't agree with everything they say, but there is merit to it. The area where I'd say they failed him, is the statement that he has an inability to engage with people he disagrees with. The whole point of college academically should be to learn skills and learn to disagree. Clearly our institution failed in this regard.

Wouldn't mind seeing this guy get a look. Three straight 1K rushers at Rutgers and finish in the top 20 rushing leaders the last 3 years too. Had a RB average over 5 yds a carry. As he should be, he should’ve never come here. He didn’t want to come here. He took it because it was an SEC job when he couldn’t get another one he tried to leave every chance he got.

Would have no issues with Jimmy Smith either, but other intriguing names that I'd think about pursuing (although I don't know how realistic any of them would be), including Elijah Brooks (Maryland)...great DMV recruiter; Ladell Betts (Iowa)...power running game at Iowa;
