Beamer is pulling off the impossible

I told my wife and sons there was zero reason for me to be excited and do the annual kickoff count down in 2026. For the first time ever, they almost believed me. since then…… Beamer has put together what could be a great offensive staff. Good recruiting class also. Looks like he will keep his best talents. If we do really well in the portal, I will have gone from zero hope to believing the hype again in record time.

He's the guy man. Patience. He would never lane kiffin us either. Honestly that was a secret to Dawn and Ray, usually a coach gets it going a bit and they bounce to the name brand so you can never break through. You guys definitely would have fired spurrier when he got punked by Bryan Van Gorder. If we back him with competitive money he will field a better roster $ for $.

From the beginning I have said things won’t always be pretty but I believe Beamer is the guy if we give him time. We have to chart our own path.

Hopefully this is like when Clemson got guy morris and the OL coach from Vandy, but without the inbreeding.

Sometimes you have to face some serious challenges to grow. I think I have said it enough but the key figure in all this is Donati. He is not playing around. He is not only polished, but he has experience in a game that had passed RT by. The recruiting class was key. But that was the result of Beamer and his style. These guys want to play for him. I suspect the next class to be similar with a winning season.

At least in his recent decision making Beamer seems to have seen or been told a new gospel. We won’t know until next fall if that’s true but in terms of controlling what he can control in the present…so far so good.

The Tanner safety net no longer exists.

Tanner was a very good baseball coach. That is all I will say.

He's doing what he needs to do so far this offseason. Making a lot of the right moves.

He’s right more often than he’s wrong. It’s also true that it’s a new age in CFB. The price of poker has gone up. Like it, dislike it or hate it. It is what it is. $12M for a T5 HC, $2M+ for a T10 OC or DC. It’s where the market’s at. The SEC pays each school $50M+ each year. That’s a lotta inflation. NIL has gotta be $20M+ to play the game. It is what it is.

Which is why folks shouldn't be so freaking emotional in the moment.

In addition, the program has a history of losing both player and coach. However this time there’s history between the AD and the prized addition (Briles). Expecting HS recruiting at RB to pick up noticeably with Drayton.

Good lord, already staring the Gamecock hype for next year? Will LS win the Heisman? Will we be in CFP? Maybe SEC Champions? Why not just wait and see what we have after we play the good teams?

A couple of weeks ago I had an argument with you about the direction of this team. I stated that, in my opinion, Beamer was a dead coach walking and would be gone after next season. That could still happen I guess, but he has done an incredible job of turning expectations around. I didn't think he had it in him to take the steps he has, but he has my respect, win or lose, for putting us in a position to be successful next year.

He is one of the best college baseball coaches ever. Top 25 without argument and probably top 10. I will not rank him as an AD. No need to pile on.

Not been a Gamecock fan very long eh? Right now, I’m thrilled we have hope. This easily could have been a continued train wreck through recruiting and retention season and somehow he’s got staff and team momentum. Enjoy your half empty glass of sour milk though.

The opposite actually. Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result?
