Beamer to VaT, rumors beginning

Or VT matches what he makes now and he gets to start the clock over and get off the hot seat. I doubt SCar would try very hard to keep him if he wanted to leave.

Beamer would be more of a fool if he wants to actually have a chance at winning to stay at sc..VaT will pay him well so it’s a win win for Beamer.

He’s still giving away free money if he does that. If these schools are stupid enough to keep doing these stupid high buyouts I would for sure force them to pay me to leave instead of letting them off the hook

IF (and that's a big if) he can recruit as well at VT as he has at SCar, the difference in level of competition virtually assures he'll have an easier time winning at VT than in Columbia. And if he lasts two more seasons at SCar and VT hires a coach that turns VT around, he misses the opportunity to "come home." Of course, his father is a LEGEND in Blacksburg, so he'll have to live up to that from the second season he's at VT. IMHO he could go either way and be fine.

I think his course has runn at SC. Moving might be the best option for him.

No he’s not. If VT pays him the same amount then there is no free money. Even if SCar fired him, they would adjust how much they owe him based on any new job he takes during that time. So unless he wants to get paid to sit on the beach for a few years then there is no free money.

SCAR will fire him within a year or two. Take the bird in hand with huge contract and buyout.

Also if he got fired from SC it’s highly unlikely VT hires him right after that anyway. Get fired from SC and you end up as HC at a g5 or become a coordinator. going from SC to VT would be a good move for him and it’s probably much easier to win at

I don't know him but he joined same country club as my brother in Charleston. My brother has made similar comments about SB. I was a little surprised tbh. Thought SB seemed pretty likable.

VT is a soft landing since he knows he’ll be fired at some point so it makes sense for him but I’ll believe it when I see it

Pretty sure it's happening. Greg Roberts in Roanoke has a local sports show in the afternoons and was alluding to Beamer looking more likely. He made it sound like someone he or someone close knew a coach that had been contracted to see if they were interested in joining his staff in Blacksburg His sources at VT are hard to beat. He's known Frank forever and Shane since he was born.

There’s just no chance of that. They can’t come up with the money he’ll demand to build the staff and roster.
