That is definitive. Should end the speculation.

I like the proactiveness here - easily could have seen Belichick just dismissing the fanfare.

Props to Bill for putting this out. And unlike the last statement, this one reads as sincere and believable

Was there really fanfare over it ? I haven’t really seen anyone outside of this board speculating and even on here no one really considered it a realistic possibility

There have been a few national articles mentioning it. Definitely nothing concrete as far as him being a candidate but good that he’s dispelling it so recruits don’t get cold feet.

There has been a lot of talk on the NY sports radio stations discussing Belichick as a candidate for the Giants job. They feel they have the QB and pass rush to win and believe that Bill could recreate his Brady era Pats team there. Lots of Giants fans have called in clamoring for him too. The general sentiment is that there are two schools of though among the fans, go Belichick or bring in someone from the Sean McVay tree, boy genius type.

This is a total overreaction. No one thought he was a legitimate candidate for that job..

I love how well bill is able to keep the chatter down on things that could hinder the program. Since the whole Jordan fiasco he’s really locked down

Yep. Might be silly that he has to make a statement in the first place, but isn’t silly that he did. Also, a not so subtle reminder that he’s NFL sought after. Low key flex

It will be repeated on game day tomorrow and good clip for recruits to see.

This is smart. Gets us back in the news mix. Our recruiting has still been pretty good, this erases any negative recruiting.

I always felt this was meant to be a “ride into the sunset” type of thing for his legacy. Dominate in the NFL and then bring the “sleeping giant” to life on his way out. The pieces are starting to fall into place for next year and beyond. On to Wake.

Excellent point at first I thought it was dumb to put something out but yeah if it seems like you have one foot out the door that hurts recruiting.

but what about a QB and an OC and a QB coach?

Opposing coaches could use it against us in recruiting so I think it is a good move.

I’d be more comfortable with a, “I wouldn’t accept any NFL offer if one came.” Similar statements to Bill’s have preceded departures before. I’m guessing recruits are asking about it. This answers those questions. Glad he made it

That’s much longer and more heartfelt than the statement from earlier this year. I think it’s obvious he loves the Giants and has a lot of respect for the Mara family. I still think we all know he would 1000% take an NFL job if one became available, but that doesn’t make him any different than any other college coach in that matter. Being an NFL head coach is just a better quality of life than a college coach.
