Weird situation. Don’t think he would have just quit the team in August bc of where he was on the depth chart. Maybe? It’s wild that none of us even thought about it.

Which is weird hearing after seeing us have like 12-13 on scholarship in 2022

Yeah I don't get that one bit. I do understand seeing the writing on the wall and looking to move on after the season, but why do it the last week of fall camp?

Yeah you have world class facilities and staff on hand to train your body and your skill, so you may as well take advantage putting in work instead of sitting in the living room playing video games for 6 months. That decision would be a big red flag for me if I were a coach at another school.

He'd already used his redshirt year (last year). If he knew he wasn't going to play any this season, that would have used another year of eligibility. Perhaps withdrawing (before too late to withdraw from school) saved a year of eligibility?

That’s what I was thinking. The timing doesn’t make sense if that’s all it was.
