Heather Dinisch just said on ESPN that the Committee “might” drop OM a spot but doesn’t see us losing a hosting position. Not a fan of hers, but she does seem to be more right than wrong on these things. She said the committee could take coaching into account but doesn’t expect that to change much of anything. We will see tonight.

We would have been 6 and now we will be 7. The difference will be we now host Bama instead of the ACC champ. Big difference.

IF Georgia beats Bama, which I think they will, Bama will drop below coming to Oxford in playoffs is my bet.

This is the year to play Alabama. They are not near the usual juggernaut.
I would love to play them at VH.

No matter an Alabama win or a loss it will shift the Tide away from Ole Miss is my very strong educated guess
Tonight's penultimate rankings are going to be interesting to see where the Rebels are.

That would drop us to 8. So the final ranking only has to drop
Us one spot to not host. Alabama beats Georgia we are done.

We are going to host. It makes absolutely zero sense that we will not be in the Top 8.
There are no data points or criteria to drop us.

If they give any consideration to the coaching change, it would have to be drop us out. I don’t see that happening.

They have to go by the games played up to this point. How do they know the team won’t respond and play better without Kiffin? How can they arbitrarily pick a number of spots to drop us based on a total unknown. They can’t rank teams based on their perception of how future games might play out. It would be ludicrous.

My guess at this point is we’re 7 and we’d drop to 8 if Bama wins.

Even Finebaum said he doesn’t see a scenario where we don’t host although he did scoff at Pete as the HC and said “steep drop off committee should/may consider”.

If it is not Bama we get, it will be ND instead.
