We seem to prefer guys who are benched or cast off over guys where there's an proven upward trajectory in performance.

Gus needs a tough nosed running QB who is tall enough to at least see the middle of the field. We basically forfeited the middle of the field all year. Sperry might be the guy to do it but if would've been real nice to get him more experience this past season. Didn't seem like they gave him enough burn to prepare for 2025. I doubt our coaches had a plan for him though.
