That’s a decision based on pure spite. Because on actual mettle/accolades/literally whatever metric you want to use, Belichick is a first ballot HOF coach without a shadow of a doubt.

He’s definitely a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer, but for a lot of people in the media, deflategate and spygate taint him as a coach.

This is why I tune out Hall of Fame discussions, any sport. It's ridiculously petty in a lot of cases.
Put the man in. If you've got a grudge, write him a letter to get it off your chest and then burn it. Move on.
