I voted no, but with a tailored game plan featuring lots of RPO’s, simplifying his pre snap reads and route concepts, we can still absolutely win 2 of the next 3 with him. He’s more than capable.

This is going to come down to coaching, specifically play calling. Hopefully DH lives up to his billing.

New flavor after slow start vs UCLA will be "PUT Gramstead in" backup is always the most popular player.

Is this a serious question? He passed for 8 yards in one quarter the other day. We need luke, Barney, Mekhai Nelson, Mozee and Cotez MIlls to step up and make some chunks plays on their own with YAC.

I see a few people were allowed to get on the internet today from their caretakers .
Absolutely not . TJ is gonna get a ton of stuff thrown at him and he will be confused . Will he make a few plays ? Sure, but it could get ugly . We will truly see how good these coaches are .

Iowa’s defense perennially makes Freshman QBs look pathetic. I’m definitely not planning on winning that one.

Put an above average offensive line around them, and it's not even close. I think with our bad OL, it will make Lateef almost as good of an option (no pun intended). It all just comes down to how good the other team is at stopping the run. Put Lateef in against Minnesota and actually commit to the run, and I can almost guarantee we would have scored more than 6 points. Of course, had we committed to the run with DR in at QB, we would have also scored more than 6 points.
Play against a physical run defense like Michigan, Iowa, etc, and DR gives us a considerably higher chance of winning.

sklarbodds said:Voted yes, but I could just as easily voted no. All the hype about Dylan connects him with Mahomes, but he is not a Mahomes type. He is a Tom Brady type. Almost a throwback. Lateef is an rpo type qb. More suited to the college game. Next week's game against UCLA won't be about Lateef. It'll be about our defence. If we can contain their QB and the rest of their offence, we can win. Then we have a bye and we'll have time to reshape the offence around Lateef. Then we'll see what the answer to the question will be.Saw this on another board. Discuss.

I know it was mop up duty against lesser quality opponents but did TJ not pass really well in his limited time?

TJ has a lot of upside, but he is raw, you could see it, when he took his eye off the ball and fumbled the snap. Example 2, running through traffic and not moving the ball to the other arm, and or protecting it is he couldn't move it safely.
