Does Michigan winning out guarantee a CFP spot?

Michigan would be 10-2 with a win over (most likely # 1) Ohio State. But wouldn't that mean the B1G would HAVE to get 4 into the CFP for this to happen AND is that a sure thing? Ohio State Indiana Oregon Michigan Edit: I left out USC, which complicates things even more.

I don't think it is a sure thing. USC could say the same thing and they would have the H2H. Lot of other teams in a similar spot as us. Just need to take it one game at a time.

I think if we won out and USC did as well, Oregon would probably be the odd man out. They'd have 2 losses and no marquee wins.

The other teams don't play the #1 team in the country on the final week of the regular season, though.. I think winning out would guarantee us a place in the B1G Championship game via the tie breaker. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I saw that on here.

What happens if USC wins out too? They would be 10-2 with a win over Oregon….

The weird thing is, what if you win out, make the B1G championship with a tiebreaker, lose that and have three losses

How crazy is it that their Penn State win means less than their Northwestern win? Something I never thought I would ever utter this year that’s for sure

I see no scenario where a 10-2 Michigan with a win against #1 osu doesn’t make the playoff.

Crazy and hilarious. Couldn't have happened to a better fan base at PSU.

It is likely that Indiana wins out (remaining schedule is weak). If Michigan beats OSU, the Suckeyes have 1 loss and USC also has 1 loss (in the BIG10), but I'm guessing OSU gets the BIG10 Championship against Indiana with the better overall record. Oregon would have 2 losses in this scenario because they play USC still. Assuming undefeated Indiana wins the championship, they would be in. 2-loss Michigan, who's last game would be a win against #1 OSU, would be in. That leaves 2-loss OSU (losing their last 2 games), 2-loss Oregon and 2-loss USC. Does the BIG10 actually get 5 teams in with this scenario? If someone were to be left out, who would it be?

Michigan would still almost certainly make it assuming 4 B10 teams make it bc our 10 win resume would be better than Oregon's.

Oregon. Their best win would be UW and wouldn't have a win close to OSU.

Agree - and so will the networks who pull strings behind the scenes and would make it clear to those involved they want Michigan eyeballs in the dance

I don’t think we would make it even in this hypothetical or at the least our chances will be slim. Probables including conference winners - Ohio state, Indiana, Oregon Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, TAMU Miami and/or Georgia Tech Texas tech and/or byu G5 team others in play - Vandy, Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan, Louisville Of course a lot of it is schedule and losses and up in the air but assuming all those teams or most of them are 10-2, it’s a tough path for us.
