Guy is a finalist for DPOY this year and will have a chance to be it next year.
would assume gets better offensively next year
also, if we don’t pay him he likely goes to Duke?
if we are competing for a title it will be vs the likes of teams like Duke.
I get he’s not a complete player, but IMO you got to pay the man.
If you look at Tiller, Paul, and Flory need to have 2/3 back. Post players don’t pick up our system quickly - need continuity.

KansasKid84 said:I love Flory! I'm sure Bill loves him too because he plays fantastic defense. I would love to have him back if he is our 3rd or 4th highest paid player. I fully expect Flory to command (and receive) significant funding. KU seems to be looking to up our payroll. If we can fit him in with some better players he would be great. He made huge progress from Year 1 to Year 2. With that said, he was still offensively challenged other than lobs. Bill's offense runs best when we have a low post presence we can feed. Flory wasn't that. Perhaps he can continue to improve and become that kind of player. My best guess is that his game won't develop in that fashion.I wonder if we raise his pay or just say good luck.

We can find someone a smudge less better for half the price

I hope we can keep Flory. That said,, I personally think we will regret it if we don't pay Big Paul too. Kid was coming on strong at the end and he has size that even Flory and Bryson don't have.
Go Hawks!

See ya. Good defender but struggles vs anybody over 6'10. Can probably get two decent big men for his asking price

6’8” middle man who should have pinned that shot against the back board against St John’s? We can do better…

Honestly, with as limited as his offense is and with how he falls apart against more physical bigs, might be money spent more wisely elsewhere. Not holding your feet to the fire, but what is a guy like Flory worth on the market? 2-3 mil?

People saying he’s replaceable don’t understand how impactful he is on defense. You pay the man and hope he develops more on offense. Part of me wonders if you put Stokes at the 4 and play small (sacrificing rebounding some) if he is more productive offensively.

At some point you have the option of player A at a certain price or player B, who may be comparable, at a far less price. Perhaps we need to explore ROI.
I heard Dusty May say that they have players that will offered more from another school and may have to let them go. Just the way of today’s college basketball.
