Going to be honest… we’ve got to get out of the SEC

lol..yeah..not going to happen.

It would be crazy for any team in the SEC or Big10 to try to get out. There is a possibility that in the future if you are not in one of those 2 and not a blueblood like FSU you might end up relegated to a 2nd tier division of college football that nobody cares about

SEC means financial stability. I think there would be another gale and USC could get locked out. Arkansas almost got locked out and many former Southwest Conference schools twisted in the wind for decades chasing a conference.

I get it… it’s all money based in the end… but we just have to be honest with our expectations… we’ve been in the SEC since around 92… how has it benefited us in wins vs loses… the wins are great and epic… but we can’t compete with these guys

How many national championships had we won in ANY non-club sport before entering the SEC? Final Fours? Bowl wins? All of those are matters of wins and losses. I’ll save you the trouble in case you might need to look it up: the answer to all three is zero.

Wins vs nobody are meaningless. I'd rather play Alabama, Oklahoma and Georgia and have a chance to win all of them than to play App State, Jacksonville State and Coastal and win all 3.

Lets go back to being an Independent School

Be glad we are not in the ACC this season. The top half of the conference would hand South Carolina its azz on a silver platter in football, basketball and baseball. But we would dominate Furman, Wofford and the Citadel every year.

What a terrible post.

We just lost to Alabama by 7 at home with one of the sorriest offenses in program history and that involved us gifting them a TD and missing a field goal, along with I believe getting tackled for a safety. The idea we can't compete is asinine. What we do have to do is stop getting in our own way. We do that in any facet and it does show up, where it's administrative, coaching, or execution.

You’re being emotional over a down year where we’ve been leading or within a score going into 4th quarter of 4 ranked games this year with a dog shit coordinator and OL coach. Beamer has gotten the talent we just need the coordinator to take us to the next level.

It gives us a bunch of coattails to ride on? I guess every conference has to have bottom feeders, and being near the bottom of the best conference arguably gives us an easier path to bigger things if we can manage a good season every once in a while. In the current landscape of CFB I don't know that it benefits us to leave, but all the "SEC! SEC!" fans are embarrassing...screw the SEC.
