Good Thing UM didn’t “overspend” on mid-tier OL’s in the portal.

Those overpriced mid-tier guys probably wouldn’t even see the field with the talent and depth UM is throwing out there. Hope all that money saved is earning some serious interest.

Yeah Moore roster management has annoyed me...completely ignored obvious weakness....gotta use TP more to your advantage especially when UM should have money to spend

The instant I heard that in the off-season and when they didn’t get good WRs, I knew this is exactly what would happen. Moore is a very bad coach and his only shot is to be surrounded by greatness and dollars. That didn’t happen enough and so this year will be the same as last year, so will next year. And Bryce will be gone mark my words. He’s on an annual contract.

The most annoying part about it. Is how many times we had to listen to How Michigan was going to be aggressive in the portal. NFL salary cap model doesn't work if your price range is way off.

I was thinking about this. I think it’s more that if they spend a Mill on an OL they worry they have to reset comp for lots of other guys and will cause culture issues. I wonder if you asked the team right now would they have been ok not having a bump if they had two good interior lineman what they would say

I know this is crazy talk, but somehow, NFL teams manage to keep locker rooms together, despite the players all making different amounts of money.

Everyone feeling good about pay equity definitely more important for a happy locker room than winning big games.

If the goal is playoff contention - then the issue is pretty clear, we had subpar recruiting classes in ‘23 and ‘24 and couldnt cover it all up in one portal cycle. We were active in the portal with Haynes, Williams and payne (not sure how the latter two looked tonite), so can’t say we did nothing. we plugged holes at rb, dl and safety but didnt do enough at ol and wr
