Hiring a HC based on ceiling vs floor.

Franklin/Lane high floor mediocre ceiling. brohm/dilly middle floor & unknown ceiling. G5’s Unknown floor and Unknown ceiling. Drink mediocre floor and mediocre ceiling. DJ mediocre floor & unknown ceiling (but avoids an any sort of rebuild). take Durk

We’ve lost the right to care more about the ceiling than the floor.

Anyone that chooses floor over ceiling is low T

Getting us to 8 wins consistently would be a start

Anybody that doesn't realize our Ceiling is a Natty with everybody on our list is dumb.

I think unless we go full dumb, the next coach will have a high floor. We have the money to get the talent. I dont know that we can go wrong unless we get another freeze. Im not into Drink or jimbo. Most of the others will be fine. Just needs to be organized and relatable to kids and boosters. My pick os durkin. He is organized. He is able to please boosters and the players love him. Durkin also knows he can call plays/defense amd be head coach. Thats what we need. I think hell have influence on the defense but will delegate to the DC. Durkin is the homerun if we dont over think it. He'd come with a cheap first contract and would keep the rosters better than the others. Great talent evaluations too.

I think Franklin would flip the switch. Get out his comfort zone. That just me thinking

Got that right. Not what everyone wants but we gotta get back there & push higher. It’d be nice to enjoy more than 1 or so SEC win a year.

Same. I just feel like he's itching to get back to the pinnacle of CFB. He can do it at AU 😈

The crazy part is, we don’t have to hit a home run to hit the ceiling. We just can’t get a coach that will half ass do the job. Harsin wouldn’t connect with players, boosters, or recruits and Freeze wasn’t interested in actually coaching the team fully. Get someone who is hungry enough to do both and they’ll find success like every coach we have had from Dye to Gus. Literally every one of them either competed for titles or went undefeated or both. That’s the ceiling for any coach we get that is willing to grind

That right there has always been my point. We literally, have had 5 straight losing seasons.

I kind of feel that too but i’m ultra cautious Of that feeling because I felt the same way with Hugh
