Apparently Smothers will indeed sign with Texas today and he's been committed to Alabama for a while publicly. I have had a good relationship for him for a few days now and told him if something changed to let me know. On Monday he sent me a message that it was Alabama. I called him, got quotes, and have a story prepared about signing with Alabama. I was supposed to meet him at 8:30 this morning to do some photos before his ceremony. Couldn't contact him since last night and now he's with Texas. That's the story as I sit in a Bojangles off 65 heading towards Montgomery.
