How concerned are we about Vandy?

Not sure about y’all, but I don’t feel too good about this game. The offense really needs to turn a corner this week or it could get ugly quick. I still have confidence in the team, just not confident it will get turned around this week. Surely I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Before anyone else gets here and spews the opposite...deeper than that bad feeling you have, there's one that knows we should and will win on Saturday. Stick to that one...2 score W incoming.

I don’t have much evidence based on the first two games, but I’m pretty confident thinking they’ll play much better. We’ve seen this before. Sometimes you give teams and fans false confidence…kinda what we did to Kentucky last year. They were favored by 10. Side note: I think Florida could do something similar. Don’t know if it’ll be enough to win at LSU but wouldn’t be shocked at all if they play much better and it’s a late fourth quarter game. This is life in our conference now.

You’re right, it’s been like this almost every year. I thought the offense would have broke out last week. Granted there was a nearly 3 hour rain delay and poor field conditions.

Depends on the definition of concerned. Can Vanderbilt beat Carolina? Absolutely. Is Carolina favored by a touchdown for a reason? Absolutely. No matter how bad the first quarter was the other night, I'm amazed at some acting almost like Carolina doesn't have a chance.

Maybe I should plan on staying off X until the game is over lol. Haven’t seen many positives on there.

I also think Carolina has earned the benefit of the doubt against Vanderbilt. I was 11 years old the last time they beat us and we have had some really bad teams (2015, 2020) and some really ugly games with them (2016, 2021).

If we come into this game healthy, I feel better about our chances. The offense is going to have to score more than 17 points and control the ball if they want the defense to be as fresh as it needs to chase down Pavia. If this was the old Vandy I wouldn't be as worried about the game, but you can tell they not only believe they can win games, they expect to win. Of course they might use some external motivation like breaking a losing streak against us to get going. So I hope we start fast and finish them even faster, don't let them hang around.

I think one of the biggest concerns is how much Vandy can possess the football and stay on the field. They won a lot of those games last year by converting third downs and letting the playclock run down. Carolina has not had an efficient offense to this point this year. It's all boom or bust, which isn't a great thing against a methodical team.

Well their OL just dominated a DL with which ours struggled—to say one isn’t reasonably concerned would require said person to drink from the keg of copium.

On a scale of 1-10, my level of concern is about a 9. If we had shown up on offense the last two weeks, it'd be about a 2.

The OL struggling against one meh DL and one terrible DL does not inspire confidence.

Bought a half point taking us to cover 5, think we end up winning something like 27-10

I like that our defense is limiting touchdowns. Hoping to see more of the same and a nice start to SEC play.

Are you saying their offensive line is going to dominate our defense line? Or that our office line is gonna struggle against that fine? I think we would all agree that our D line is superior to VT’s. I’m not sure. I seem much of a drop off from an hour DL last year to this year. Paviall the calendar dates he wants, he still has to come into Willy B at night and play against our defense.

we will successfully run the ball. Offense will open up to the tune of 400 yards. I see Vandy still making it a game unless we truly control the ball and clock. Keep away is good defense. Cocks by 13
