Did they not recruit him here? He didn't change what type of RB he was....if he wasn't what they wanted, then why would they recruit him in the first place? I don't get this take that he isn't the type of RB Mario wants.

Not sure where this is coming from? 1) Fletcher almost carried this team to national championship in playoffs. Who was better in the CFP? 2) Last year the Martinez/Fletcher combo was clearly capable of winning a natty. And that offense was explosive unlike this year’s. 3) This year’s team showed plenty of ability to be flexible and multiple when they wanted to. I wish they had done it more, but Fletcher wasn’t the reason they didn’t.

If VA had won as they were ranked 17th at the time it would have fulfilled the CFP committee’s POV of having at least One ACC team in the playoffs. I doubt they pick Miami and instead would have dropped Alabambi one spot and kept a gap between Miami and ND . I know it’s hypothetical but it’s most likely the outcome that would have happened.

Schembeckler teams Always played Smash mouth football. Just like Mike McDaniel.

I think some of y’all learned football playing Madden. For years we had RBs that looked like WRs and didn’t win anything because they couldn’t break tackles and wear down defenses. NFL is mostly power backs.

My own guess is that Pringle's poor pass protection was a big reason he didn't play in CFP. There are smaller guys who can pass block, and besides, he was only a freshman and got good playing time. Lyle was starter at beginning of the year. Point being, I think Mario will give significant playing time to a smaller back if they can play the way he needs. Both Lyle and Pringle were recruits who have contributed here, better we recruited them than if we hadn't.

Fletch is the better RB. There is no denying that. Sucks the kid wants to leave but it is what it is. That’s a position I’m not worried about. We need to lock in QB and get this passing game explosive again.
