Yep, Im expecting Freeman to be in South Bend next season. Just not sure how long after that. Let's hear what the buyout number is on the extension.

Touch 'em all, Eric.
There are times in life where everything aligns. It's rare, and particularly rare in the world of college football. But that's what we have with Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman. Is there a better coach? Probably a few. Is there a better coach for Notre Dame? Don't even bother to ask.
You did a terrific job of bringing all the relevant considerations to the table. It is so far removed from the football-only analysis that have dominated our message board in discussing this issue. There will be so much more to it than that. And it starts with Notre Dame recognizing what he means to the football program, and what the football program means to the university. You always, always, always need to invest in your assets. That starts with him and then moves on to his valued assistants and then to players and then to facilities. It will be money well spent.

Much like Spielberg when he makes an alien movie, I suspect there’s some inside info.

EricHansen said:Eric, do you feel that there are things other than salary being negotiated here? More guaranteed openings and pay for assistants, feasible transfer policies, or something else? If it was just salary, I feel it would have been resolved a few weeks ago.
