He "had" to leave.... Image

Cried because he couldn’t fit all of that cash in his bank account and had to go open a second one. All jokes aside I believe him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he mishandled the final year-ish of his tenure and left quite the mess. Good managers leave something better than when they picked it up, Jimbo didn’t quite manage that.

I believe him, his former players still love him to this day.

Part of me is so sour on Jimbo after what he did that I hate this clip. While there is some marketing/image rehab going on here, I do think that Jimbo genuinely still loves FSU. He is probably like #5 on my HC list but I'd prefer him as a GM more than a HC given that he's 60 years old. I would be particularly interested in hearing from him whom he'd hire as a HC for FSU (Jimbo excluded of course). He's football smart and well connected/respected. Who would Jimbo hire is what I would want to know.

I bet they did. They never had to attend a day of school under him.

*Some of them. People seem to forget he had to have his team sign effort pledges in 2016, and then he lost the locker room in 2017. Those things don’t happen with players that love their coach.

I want him back! He’s a hell of a coach and recruiter. Everyone makes choices they wish they could take back. Everything also has strengths and weaknesses. I choose to forgive the hard he caused Florida State! He’s a leader and a CEO type. He’s not only coached at the highest level and produced but he’s learned from the 2 best coaches of all time. Jimbo is the best coach we could hope for to move us forward and upward.

Yes, this would have to be addressed. We were so bad academically we were about to face penalties for it under Jimbo. At least Norvell has brought us the highest graduation / GPA in our football life.

I'm trying to think of a single coach that did this.....Mark Richt at uga? Only coaches to do this are the ones that leave for a better job. Jimbo didnt do that and had VERY extenuating circumstances....But obviously no coaches that get fired do this.

Cried??? was it out of guilt? he burnt this place to the ground, buried it and then threw dirt on it! He is the reason we began the downward spiral that we haven't been able to climb out of!!! If you want to leave because you don't like the admin then leave. Don't ruin the place you claim to love on the way out!!!!!

Funny how it always is the good players getting arrested. Notice how we have no one getting arrested and no good players.

Those pledges led to a CFP #8 finish in the country, and Francois, Blackman, and Murray had no problem.

I am warming up to Jimbo. He seems motivated to come back and be here. That means a lot. If a good financial solution could be worked out, it may be a good option. He certainly has been saying the right things.

Wasn’t part of the problem at the end that the players had tuned him out, essentially? Discipline was becoming a problem, as far as I can remember.
