Kirby Smart: BBN Should be Grateful for Mark Stoops

The Georgia head coach believes the Kentucky head coach should be commended. “It’s really amazing what he’s done at Kentucky. It’s one of those things, I hope they appreciate what he’s donebecause he’s done some incredible things, broken some records up there, been extremely competitive in our league. That’s not necessarily by record, I mean it is by record sometimes, but the games that he’s been in and the way they’ve played is incredible. You can tell he inspires his team to play extremely hard and they’re always physical.”

Remember when Cal used to do this about Mark Fox?

It’s the first thing I thought of when I saw him do it in the presser.

Every other coach in the SEC should want us to keep him as long as possible.

We need to get Brian Long’s thoughts immediately.

I put an unpopped bag of popcorn on my desk an hour or so ago just waiting for this thread to get posted. Time for it to make its way to the microwave. Image

Can't we appreciate what he did, but not have much appreciation for what he's doing? It's not like Stoops didn't quit on the BBN before the BBN quit on Stoops.

And fans will always have that in their back pocket.

Thought the same thing when I read the post. Kirby likes the guaranteed win against the Cayts.

Stoops calling up BFFs to conduct salvage operations. Impressive.

While both of these could be the truth, I took Kirby's words as more of feeling bad for a friend that is going through a hard time and trying to show his support.

I’m sure Kirby and all other coaches want him to stay so they can continue to beat up on us.

"That’s not necessarily by record, I mean it is by record sometimes, but the games that he’s been in and the way they’ve played is incredible." Did he just say we should be grateful that Mark Stoops has a lot of moral victories?

Kirby isn't afraid of UK, no matter who our coach is. Stoops is his buddy - he's putting in a good word for him.

"He's played us close, so you should be grateful."

Yes, his backfired attempt to go to A&M will always win that argument. He hasn't had the same passion since that offseason, and it shows. He lost his juice for mutiple reasons and let go of the rope. You can't do that in this league. It is too difficult to climb the ladder.

Cant help but laugh at the things some of these guys say and actually believe. Kirby has no clue what its like to not coach at a premier program or what those fans should believe or think. Maybe Georgia should have been grateful for all those Mark Richt 8-4 and 9-3 seasons and not fired him right?
