Lane

I have several OM friends that are beside themselves thinking that Lane would never leave OM. I perused the UF board for fun so I can prepare the popcorn and watch them melt. Nakos has the three candidates as Lane, Drink, and Brohm. Says it’s around 70% confidence that it’ll be Lane. Reading through some other threads, seems they believe a meeting between Lane and UF might happen during bye week. The figure of 13 mil was thrown out as what may have been offered to Lane. Also, the rumor that Strickland refuses to work with Kiffin and doesn’t like him is completely false. Just some interesting nuggets to help ease your OM friends’ minds lol.

It’s definitely a real thing at this point, if he leaves it’s likely a world where Lebby takes over this rivalry and we regain the state again. Not trying to put the cart before the horse but this Kiffin thing has real legs

His buyout is only $3 mil for a reason. He isn't planning on retiring at OM

Correct. His last contract extension actually lowered his buyout, if I’m not mistaken

I don’t understand why they think their job is better than Florida. At Florida, you can win a national championship. At Ole Miss, you cannot. It’s as simple as that. Lane Kiffin has proven that he could win a natty if he was at a blue blood. I never thought Dan could do that and I never thought Billy Napier could do that. I never thought Will Muschamp nor McElwain could do that. Florida has hired a hell of a lot of losers and Dan. I think Lane is closer to Spurrier and Meyer then he is to the others they hired.

What's funny is all 4 got fired with winning records. Just not good enough for Florida tho.

Whether he leaves or not…I hope the whole thing blows up their season just like it did when he told Auburn he was coming and Jon broke it

It’s a top 10 job and probably higher than that. He’d be a fool to not go to Florida unless he’s waiting on the LSU job to open.

I thought Lane's buyout was around $36M. That's all I am able to find when searching the web.

That’s probably if they fired him without cause. The other buyout is different.

Their buyout is negatively impacted by the fact that so much of it is tied up in the foundation so it's not the same level of enforceability.

I wouldn't take that if I were you. You should dissolve OM's board

You don’t want to get in a source off with a guy who gets his information from bathroom stalls

Kiffin is gone. The kiffin thing isn't smoke but basically a forgone conclusion. The bad thing about kiffin losing is that OM will probably hire franklin

That’s dumb. Franklin isn’t going to Ole Miss.
