While I'm sure he's going to be headed to a mid major, I'm bummed that he's not going to be on the team next season.

I’ll never understand why Grant didn’t play him more. He hustled and was always giving full effort on the court in games. He looked pretty good when he got time.

Word on the street is Leon Horner was very close to Christian Anderson, if you are into connecting dots and those sorta things.

He was one of 3 street dogs we had on the roster. I don’t blame him one bit for leaving.

I think he has a low ceiling and would never be more than a bench rotational player for a program that has annual top 25 goals. But I have also always been somewhat frustrated we take these lower rated high school recruits for a few years, pay them what I assume is close to the team minimum but thats probably more than theyd ever get elsewhere, and then when they are upper classmen and ready to play more consistently let em walk and start at mid majors. Like thats when you are supposed to finally get some payout for your work the first two years.

Personally, I think Horner’s upside is massive. Three more years.

We don’t beat #1 Arizona on their home floor without Horner.

Even though he’s not the most talented and probably wouldn’t have made an All-Big 12 team in his career Leon’s exactly the type of player Tech needs more of - high effort, defensive minded, tough - so I personally hate to see this. Have got to recruit some dawgs this offseason. Have to get better defensively.

He was the only one of the fringe rotation guys that I was hoping we would retain.

Grant's a great coach. It was a mistake to not play Horner more.
