Garbage. Insulting if you just read it on face. But, like Stoops, he tries really hard to manipulate the message and, like Stoops, it's not uncommon at all for that to backfire in rather spectacular fashion. We're not close, Mitch. We're not even competing with our in-state rival (from a lesser conference), let alone our conference.

Mitch fully expected Cal to continue as the HC when making those comments fwiw... the situations are VERY different. So idk that your point really stands tbh. Mitch did NOT want to hire a new bball coach. He wanted Cal to change so he didnt need to. I dont think mitch is forecasting shit

There isn't anything else for him to say. He isn't in position to fire him because of the contract he signed. Unless Stoops voluntarily walks out the door, its a moot point..

Prove it then. Prove that Mitch fully expected Cal back. Prove that he didn’t want to hire a new coach. Mitch is simply trying to settle the multiple fires that are out there right now. That’s how he likes to operate, like it or not. These words mean absolutely nothing.

I can see a few big losses coming up and no fans in the stands will make Mitch change his mind and tell Stoops to find another job... I can almost guarantee there will be at least 4 more losses in the next 7, if not total of 7... We are not winning the next 4, may not win Ten Tec and I would not give us the U6 win either, or the Vandy game... I see maybe one more win at the most... But I expect the team finishing with a 2-10 record, 3-9 at best... But I still think 2-10 is the right answer... That is when Barney will have to make the right move on Stoops if he wants any fans to come to the games next season... GBB

I’ve been here since 2008. I remember it all. We really don’t know what went down. We *think* Mitch found Cal in a “gotcha” situation but we really don’t know. But calling someone naive when they themselves refuse to read the “tea leaves” in this situation is pretty rich. Considering you’re getting incredibly defensive for no reason, it ain’t terribly surprising though. The article linked is straight up PR BS. As you said, reading the tea leaves ain’t so hard. Wake up.
