If he does then let Steven coach this year and hire a real coach after the season.

Yea not trying to be political but it really seems like it’s a push to hate Israel

Why would he do it so close to the next season that just doesn’t make a lot of sense

Well, the most plausible one would be to give his son an opportunity to take the position without giving Auburn the opportunity to conduct a search. That makes plenty of sense.

I know that he has reached out to groups that run campaigns. His window is limited and with Tubs vacating his seat, unfortunately it makes sense.

I’ll believe it when I see it, but I thought before last season started that it had the potential to be his last.

Why does everyone seem to have a problem with Steven Pearl becoming the HC?

Wtf? Steven being our next coach and Bruce stepping down before the season has been in the plans for a while. There’s been some flip-flopping over the summer on what Bruce will actually do, but Steven is our next coach and rightfully so.

Timing makes sense and how I’d imagine it would go if he does step down. If he stepped down in say June or July, Cohen and co could have possibly conducted a search. With season like a month away and practices starting, him doing it now would force SP as HC. This would be his only way to guarantee SP as HC.

I was told this about 3 months ago by someone who would know. I started doubting it since it has been so long. Certainly tracks.

If it does happen… Idk why anyone here thinks Auburn bball is a desirable job and we could find anyone better than Steven on the market. We aren’t anywhere close to top 15 in the country in NIL and the program will constantly be begging for pennies from the boosters no matter the coach. BP overachieved here and hiring his son to run the program like it has been through two final 4 runs is our best bet to keep this program from returning to a bottom dweller SEC team.
