No shade for Dylan if he goes

He was built to run a pro-ready program like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, or Miami. Those programs have NFL-caliber linemen, elite skill positions, and the ability to run the ball, protect the passer, and make play-action truly effective. His ideal stat line is something like 14 of 18 for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. That is not Nebraska. He is a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. He has Heisman-level potential, just not in Lincoln. You know what does not fit at Nebraska? Dylan Raiola, Julian Sayin, Carson Beck, Ty Simpson. You know what does fit at Nebraska? Diego Pavia, Haynes King, Jayden Maiava, Sam Leavitt, and with more development, TJ Lateef. “You are not a real fan if you do not put Nebraska in the same category as the top programs!” Reality check: we are not in that category. Nebraska succeeds when it is gritty and scrappy on both sides of the ball. Look at Pelini. He got close. Look at what Whittingham is doing at Utah right now. I give Rhule credit for trying to elevate Nebraska to that level, but the truth is we are not there right now. And Dylan needs a place that is already there. He has one year left. I am glad he came to Lincoln. It was great seeing him in a Husker uniform, and he brought a lot of national attention back to a program that had drifted. Wish him the best and do not be bitter if he decides to move on.

We run as much or more of a pro level offense than most teams in the country. Our OC is definitely not from that mold but hence the story he’s running the Satt playbook which he pretty much is

Holgerson's offense will flourish under TJ and Trae given we bring in some stud OL. I remember watching Holgerson's offense while at W. Virginia when he had a mobile QB who was a decent passer. The offense was fun to watch and creative. With a PRO style QB, that offense becomes limited. IF Rhule doesn't fire the OC, and the DL, LB and perhaps our DC, then Rhule deserves to be fired next year if our recored is trash again.

He actually has 2 years left. He started as a true FR last year in 2024.

So you want him to fire Holgerson even though you say TJ and Trae will flourish under him. j/k. I know you meant the OL coach.

He was built to be an offensive lineman and struggles to get his body composition commensurate with the rest of the B1G. All we heard was how he conditioned his body in the offseason. The reality is it got worse.

"The reality is it got worse." Disagree. When I saw his body and the way he moved around at the beginning of the year I thought it was fairly clear that he had put some work in since his first year. Was it enough? Did he get to where most fans wanted him to? No, probably not. But I think it is unfair to claim he did not put in work to get more mobile.

He’s slower than molasses. And his lateral movements are so slow he is susceptible to many sacks. When you have a QB of an OL, it makes sense.

I don’t care if he goes! We don’t need quarterbacks. We need defense and offense lineman. Like 15 million dollars worth. Image

We basically just needed a RT this year.. Pritchett has actually done well at LT but RT has been an absolute cluster F of a position ..

I won't throw any shade at him. I appreciate what he's done but it's probably not the best fit for him here

Nebraska being Nebraska. Can’t get out of its own way. Anyone with a brain knows it’s time for both parties to move on. Rhule has no idea how to manage this. Watch the presser. He’s lost. He hemorrhaged years to bring Dylan in. And now, he’s going to have to pay the piper. Matt Rhule continues to play checkers while programs with a pulse clown him. What Rhule did to keep Dylan happy has hurt Nebraska for years. It could arguably be the worst decision this program has ever had to endure. The only exception would be Dannen extending him for another $25 million guaranteed. Fans wonder why Nebraska can’t take the next step. It’s simple - can’t get out of their own way.

Even with a mediocre RT (to match the rest of our line) none of them are sniffing B1G honors. That’s a huge issue. We should be churning out a couple of guys that can go NFL every year.

Agree with everything you said there. If Dylan goes, thank you for your time and best of luck. If he stays, great! Let’s load up the O line and give him the protection he needs. Although I think he is definitely looking around. What is your measurement for the“Pelini got close” part. He provided us the most stable timeframe (which might be what you are getting at), but my god when we played a good team on national TV we got absolutely shelled.

I think part of this equation also has to factor in the money aspect. Is it worth keeping Dylan or going with a little bit cheaper option at quarterback and using that money for other players? Also is Dylan on the correct quarterback for this offense or does Holgerson prefer somebody a little more mobile?
