Seems like notre dame is gonna try and blow up deal with ACC tmrw after the most whining I’ve ever seen. saw this tweet and was wondering why espn would care if their games are on nbc.
Wait, our TV deal with ESPN is contingent on having ND play 5 ACC teams on another network? What? this is getting bonkers now. Never should have let them in non football, they always wield their power against you at a moments notice.

The ACC didn’t pick Miami. The committee did. Why wouldn’t they lobby for their own teams anyway? That said - good to keep a solid relationship with the 800lb gorilla. Don’t bite the hand that feeds

Its more like 2.5 games a year on ESPN and 2.5 on NBC. ACC Home games on ESPN.

Damn. We got a problem here. going up against the most powerful sports university is not good. This isn’t FSU we are dealing with. It all goes back to the rediculous tie breakers letting in Duke.

ND is so upset that Miami got in over them. It's a real shame we don't have a head-to-head matchup to- wait, what? -CoS

It all actually goes back to them losing to Miami. They put themselves in this situation.

Absolutely. But I was never afraid of Clemson or FSU burning the house down. No real leverage. But have no idea of what the actual contract is with ACC and ND, but if reports are true, and the TV contract is shredded if ND leaves relationship, we got a problem here. You know Clemson and FSU won’t back the conference either, it’s the dream scenario for them. Maybe it’s all a nothing burger, but trust me, you do not want to go to war with ND.

I thought it was written into the contract that they must join the ACC if push comes to shove kind of deal?

I am actually very scared. This whole situation is really really bad news for the conference. ACC could not afford any more unrest....and somehow Notre Dame, the school that was actually pretty pro ACC through all the turmoil, is now the angry party. Cannot believe how much of a disaster this season ended up being for the ACC (even though Miami got in which is great, it was of course at the expense of the ACC partner). Having said that...Notre Dame is such a crybaby and such a sore loser. This isn't the ACC's fault. And come on....Miami beat ND. They're completely off their rocker to think that the ACC and Miami wasn't going to rightfully point that out. This just sucks. Why do bad things have to keep happening to this conference? I'm so sick of it.

Sidenote Marcus freeman may leave notre dame for the giants (current favorite on kalshi) AFTER the portal. If our game doesn’t get canceled vandy style tmrw (im thinking it does) we may play a JV team in south bend next year.

If the collective P4 had a spine they would tell ND to go f&ck themselves. This is outrageous. Blaming the league that allows you to be a partial member for standing up for its full member - THAT BEAT YOU ON THE FIELD! ND's actions are a bridge too far. Tell them to take their act to the American or MWC where they belong.

Why isn’t Notre Dame angry at the SEC which bumped them out of the CFP and put in Old Piss, OU and Alabama?

The Big Ten and SEC will demand full membership. I don’t think they will ever get a sweeter deal w a conference than what they have now.

It’s literally unfathomable they are mad at ACC for campaigning for Miami. PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG

The threshold for this in court is going to be very very high and is a total toss up (at best(. Good luck. That said, Jim Phillips needs to go if he can't solve this. The ACC benefits greatly from the ND relationship and as you all may recall, ND was crucial in holding the ACC together and getting us in after the Pac-12 collapse. They are being giant cry babies, but If we had just beaten Cal and Virginia, none of this happens. It's actually our fault 😬

Yeah I have no idea. ND is being dumb, and this whole situation is a nightmare (I think what they're mad at the most is the constant Miami vs ND game being played last week....effectively using the conferences resources to push Miami while putting down ND). This meltdown is 100% on ND...but the ACC definitely didn't need this happening regardless of who's fault it is. Just sucks. I'm very much of the opinion that ACC+ND even as a 99% member is much better than ACC without ND. No matter how many ACC fans cry about their preferential treatment. And I think those that think getting rid of ND is better are totally crazy. To lose them over something idiotic like this would suck, when it's not the ACC's fault. It's the playoff format and the committee. Just such a huge bummer that it of course HAD to come down to 10-2 Miami and ND.

The ACC isn’t getting more teams into the CFP as a result of its current arrangement with ND and if this is how they act when an unaffiliated body (CFP) chooses to leave them out then they can F&CK right on off.
