Odds of becoming a better program without KF.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, and I'm not being a KF fan boy, but what do you think are the odds of Iowa becoming an overall better program if they were to send KF packing, or he was to surprise us and retire after this season? I would put the odds at very low at finding the perfect hire, and Iowa all of the sudden becomes a top 5 big 10 program consistently. In fact I think the odds of taking a step or two back would be much higher. Thoughts?

What are we? 12th in nation in victories the last decade? Odds of being better probably 10 to 15 percent with our nil.. just my guess.. Odds of being worse with next coach.. much higher obviously..

Indiana did it. But they basically bought a roster. We are in a new league. Iowa isn't playing in the big ten west anymore. Iowa will be lucky to win 6 games this year with or without KF.

Matt Campbell is winning but in an easier league than the current Big Ten.

And to be honest, I don't think ISU is better than Iowa this season. They are a product of a solid coach with an easy conference. We have had that with the Iowa schedule over the years....

60-70% likely worse. 30-40% better. Based on some numbers I ran on coaching changes in the past 20 years.

Low, but he's 70. It's coming regardless.

What are the odds we get another thread started on KF's future?

Let's let him coach til 100 due to fear of failure.

Hopefully the stress of succeeding Saban becomes too much for Kalen DeBoer to handle and he and 'Bama mutually agree to part ways. I would love to bring DeBoer to Iowa City.

I would love nothing more than to have a home CFP game with Ferentz as coach.

Thoughts? Well here’s one: Eventually KF will no longer be here- whether after ‘26 or ‘27 or whatever. The program will move on without him whomever the new coach is. Instead of all this handwringing today, why not just focus on what’s happening now and let Beth Goetz figure it all out in time. The Iowa job will be a very attractive one when it comes open and very good candidates will be plentiful for many reasons .

Don’t suggest that- some here would try anything in their power to ensure that.

How much did the JMU players cost do you think?

Ugh I know, easily could be 5-0 at his point with a great shot at 6-0 going into the Penn State game. Think this team ends up 8-4/9-3 if Gronowski is okay, and those losses are gonna hurt even worse in November. Damn.

I’ll take the chance on the 30-40%. Worst case you’re hiring another coach in 3 years and the consistency the last 50 years safe guards is from the absolute basement of relevancy…. I think

Odds, who knows? But I do feel they’re higher under Goetz than Barta.

I mean Indiana is arguably the worst College Football Program in history and look what happened when they made a change. This notion that Iowa can’t do better is nauseating. I love Kirk as a man, but the stats speak for themselves. Haven’t beat a team that’s finished ranked since 2019. I mean give me a break.

What would you consider it, a B level job? I think the fan support and being in the big 10 are the two top factors.

Until we win legitimate games there will be many. We do have a chance of losing our next game, especially without Grono or f that is the case. If Grono is out, will we be a dog ?
